Downloading Documents Outside of Your Working Directory (unmanaged export)

An unmanaged export is when you download copies of documents to some location outside of your working directory. Because an unmanaged export does not lock documents in ProjectWise, other users can still check them out or export them (managed export).

Downloading selected documents

  1. Select one or more documents.
  2. Select Document > Export.

    The Document Export Wizard opens.

  3. Select Send to Folder and click Next.

The Define the export settings page opens.

  4. In the Export folder field, specify the location to which you want to download documents.

You can either click Browse to select a local or network folder, or enter the path to that folder in the Export folder field. If the folder you specify does not exist, it will be created upon export.

ProjectWise remembers the last location you exported to using this wizard, and displays the path to this folder in the Export folder field the next time you use the wizard. If you have deleted that folder, clicking Browse prompts you to create the folder again. Click OK to create the folder, or click Cancel to select a different export location.

  5. Click Next.

Unmanaged copies of selected documents are downloaded to the specified export folder, and the results are displayed in the wizard.

  6. Click Finish.
